Barcelona Bound! A Corporate Training Experience in the Heart of the City

In October 2023 we took a group of 60 corporate guests to Barcelona for a week of employee training as a summer event. Barcelona was the perfect location for this overseas training event due to the company having multiple international offices and requiring a country that would be easily accessible. We stayed in Hotel Le Meridien which is less than 30 minutes from Barcelona airport and is situated on the famous La Rambla in the center of Barcelona. The Seriously Cool team relocated their office for 7 days to base themselves there to be on hand at all times during the guests 6 day stay. We couldn't recommend Barcelona more for an overseas training trip in Europe. There is so much culture and architectural history in this stunning city, which is all accessible on foot (or via cable car!!). The guests were engrossed in training all day, and during the evenings they enjoyed planned dinners, drinks, and rooftop views organised by us, as well as two nights off for their own leisure where they could explore the night life the buzzing city has to offer.

Breathtaking views - summer event

For the organised evening events, the client wanted the group to have a truly unique Spanish experience. During our venue selection period, we underwent site visits with the main client to the hotels in the area, restaurants, rooftop bars, and other locations to ensure we could provide exactly what the client wanted on their budget. With the guests training in meeting rooms all day, we were keen to get them outside for the evenings they had off. On one of the evenings we took them to a gorgeous rooftop bar where they had two hours of unlimited drinks and delicious local cuisine whilst looking out over the skyline of Barcelona all the way down to the port.  On their nights off they were in walking distance to fabulous locations such as Barcelona Cathedral, the famous La Boqueria Market, the Gothic Quarter, legendary Casa Batlló, and the Marina.

 For those guests who were lucky enough to have time off during the day in their training schedule, they could take a cable car up the mountain to the historical Montjuïc Castle, or take a short taxi journey to the breathtaking La Sagrada Familia - another one of Antoni Gaudí's famous architectural achievements. On the final evening we organised a gala dinner for the guests at Torre de Alta Mar. This seafood restaurant is situated at the top of the cable car tower on the waterfront. It has a 360 degree panoramic view of the harbor, the beach, the city, the mountains and the entire coast line of Barcelona. Its refined dining and breathtaking views has earned the restaurant the title of being "one of the most spectacular restaurants in the world". After an evening of fine dining, guests headed out to an enchanting cocktail bar before they could party the night away in the clubs a short walk from the hotel.
